4 BICYCLES IN MY ROOM
My humble journey started off by me buying myself a "Progear" bicycle back in 2003.
“Progear” was my first "professional bicycle” which I will call it back then with standardized parts for free-range of upgrades. It was a ride to everywhere until I lost it overnight in a bicycle parking bay around my neighborhood.
My Second Bike was a “HARO”! No more locks I told myself, and here’s the start of my mechanical adventure back in 2003…
That was when I bought my first upgrade of Shimano XT 3x9 speed shifters from BikeLink. The journey of compatibility meant study, research and binged watching videos.
Fast forward to many cycling journeys, training and races with the acquired knowledge of rebuilding 8 bicycles rebuild, 4 wheelsets and 2 Ironman races. Jaded with the current work, I took a leap of faith in 2015 and flew to USA, Oregon, Portland to grow the interest of bicycle further with the certification:-
-
PROFESSIONAL REPAIR AND SHOP OPERATION
-
UBI CERTIFIED SUSPENSION TECHNICIAN
-
UBI / DT SWISS WHEEL BUILDER
-
TIG WELDED STEEL FRAME BUILDER
2015 was indeed rewarding in multiple platforms – Professionally, Emotionally, Mentally.
That was the furthest I have gone away from home, 12 hours behind time on a Budget and Solo Adventure. It was when I meet other travelers which 1 in particular, a 19 year old who has travelled to 4 continents. I was 29 and was only going for my 2nd.
That was the time I put all my parent's training to practice. Cooking, laundry, budgeting etc.
That was the trip that shed light on the darkness within, reflecting on my mission, my purpose.
When I returned to homeland feeling refreshed and back to my job. Like everyone who once have a hobby….. Many excuses came thereafter, and my bicycles and tools have been kept in storage for an extended period of time...
With the help of my girlfriend, fiancée and wife-to-be, I am sharing with fellow Singaporeans the joy of cycling.
Cycling has been my Physio and Psychological Therapy. It can be the same for you.
Give it a Go.
My job is to match the bikes to you...
